What would you do if you were told you had only 72 hours to live? Not an easy question to answer, but that's exactly what participants in 'The Last 72' Writing Contest must do. Currently run and sponsored by the Emmy award-winning Everest Production Company and The Fountain: A Magazine of Scientific and Spiritual Thought, the competition invites writers to describe what it would be like if they suddenly had to live out three days as though they were their last.

The largest community event the Western Nevada College hosts was at the Carson City campus on May 15. Sierra Foundation exhibited unique items, arts & crafts from Turkey and demonstrated Art of Water marbling (EBRU).

A reception held in Washington, D.C., by the Assembly of Turkic American Federations, gathering six major federations representing the thriving Turkic-American community in the US, was attended by seven senators and 53 congressmen among hundreds of well-wishers. The reception was held on Wednesday at the Willard InterContinental Washington, bringing ambassadors, directors and representatives of Turkish, Turkic and Eurasian peoples together with members of the US Congress, legislative directors and legislative assistants for foreign policy. US senators Richard Lugar, Robert Casey, Frank Lautenberg, Jeff Bingaman, Roger Wicker, Mark Warner and Kay Hagen were present at the event.
